Love and Chocolate

February 12, 2012 By Alex@Spoonful of Sugar Free

Valentine’s Day is fast approaching. Need some ideas to surprise your loved one?

Start off the day with a mug full of hot coffee, a heart-shaped poached egg, Bitter Chocolate Waffles topped with fresh strawberries, and some Oatmeal Raisin Bizookies.

Impress him/her by making Homemade Spring Rolls with Spicy Peanut Sauce. Or try shaping a pizza into a heart.

Then, of course, there is dessert. For Valentine’s Day, I suggest:

  • Fig Plum Crisp
  • Chocolate Cupcakes with Peanut Butter Frosting
  • Power Brownies
  • Chocolate-Dipped Strawberries
  • PBC Bars
  • Chocolate Almond Cookie Dough Bites
  • Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups
  • Strawberry Coconut Ice Cream Sundaes
  • Raw Cheesecake

Check out my Holiday Pinterest Board for more fun Valentine ideas!

Thought-provoking, mind-prodding question of the day:

How are you spending your Valentine’s Day?

Really fun ideas! The fig crisp and raw cheesecake sound especially delicious.

The boy and I don’t even try to get a reservation on V-Day. We’ll probably each do something small for each other (like beer for him and flowers for me) and spend the evening snuggling. =)

I love the added text, what program did you use to do this?? I have no plans for V day as of now! I’m sure I’ll be enjoying some chocolate though as I typically always do in a day.

      Katie,

Usually I would use Photoshop for something like this, but I was in a hurry and crunched for time and ended up using Word!! Haha, I guess it worked pretty well, though, if you liked it!

Ooh these look so good – especially those beautiful spring/summer rolls! My Valentine’s Day will include plenty of heart shaped and healthy foods with a few movies and a nice zombie movie. I’m such a romantic, hehe.

    Love the collection!

I went out to dinner with a very sweet boy who brought me flowers tied up with new Komachi knives. Clearly he knew the way to my heart. 🙂
