Day 8: Dessert for Breakfast

November 10, 2011 By Alex@Spoonful of Sugar Free

Welcome to day eight of the Sugar Free Challenge! There are only two days left for the challenge-can you believe it? It has gone by so fast!

Here is today’s sample menu:

Breakfast: Oatmeal topped with sliced banana, a dollop of Peanut Butter Cream Frosting, and Unsweetened Chocolate Shavings.

Lunch: Baked Sweet Potato with almond butter and cinnamon.

Snack: 2-Ingredient Macaroons.

Dinner: A big salad with spinach, bell pepper, onion, quinoa, strawberries, chicken, olives, and artichoke hearts. Drizzled with Dijon dressing.

Dessert: High Protein Cookie Dough.

Thought-provoking, mind-prodding question of the day:

When’s the last time you had dessert for breakfast?

Ummm…Just had some today!

hmmm. I like savory breakfasts for the most part but lately oats have been comforting and yummy and I have them with chocolate usually!

I had dessert for breakfast today: banana blended with almond butter & flaxseed and then layered in a sundae glass with natural yogurt and strawberries!

I was in a hurry this morning, so I grabbed some sugar-free cookies to go with my coffee 🙂 Generally, I try to have a savory breakfast with plenty of protein, because I know that eating a sweet breakfast just sets me up for sugar cravings all day. But it’s fun every once in a while 🙂

Cottage cheese with pumpkin and apple butter mixed in is a pretty desserty breakfast for me!

lately because of the cold weather I’ve been using the egg puff trick but mixing pumpkin in and then topping it off fruit and some greek yogurt and cinnamon, warm sweet and tasty!

Does a toasted ab&j sandwich count? Those are amazing. When the almond butter gets all warm and melty. It’s so decadent it feels like dessert. Urgh Now I am hungry.

I think I have dessert for breakfast most days…. so good! I am obsessed with unsweetened chocolate in EVERYTHING. Banana soft serve is a pretty common one, especially in summer. Just made a chocolate-tofu pudding (yip, for breakfast) yum yum yum.

My first meal or ‘breakfast’ is 99% always sweet. Oats or oat bran with vanilla and cinnamon is a good choice! Or fresh fruit. Dessert doesnt have to be a reeses or kitkat bar =)
