Twelve Days of Christmas Recipes

December 17, 2010 By Alex@Spoonful of Sugar Free

I present to you “The Twelve Days of Christmas” by Alex.

On the twelfth day of Christmas, my true love sent to me:

Twelve Pick-a-Fruit Crisps,

Eleven Grain-Free Pumpkin Spice Breads,

Ten Baked Banana Oatmeals,

Nine Raw Coconut-Iced Barks,

Eight Sugar-Free Monsters,

Seven Peanut-Chocolate Truffles,

Six Healthy Pumpkin Rolls,

Five Leftover Salsa Bowls,

Four Apple Pies in Bowls,

Three Hobo Dinners,

Two Twice Baked Sweet Potatoes,

And a Grain-Free Bitter Chocolate Cake for One!

Thought-provoking, mind-prodding question of the day:

Do you have any recipes planned for the Holidays yet? I actually have a lot more Christmas-y recipes to post, so I better get them up before the Holidays pass by!

What is your favorite Holiday song? There are so many of them, but I think I would have to choose Greensleeves! It is my favorite one to sing!

P.S. Don’t forget to enter my Agar Agar giveaway! Today is the last day to enter!

Truthfully, I don’t know what I’ll be making for the holidays. My oven is broken right now, which severely hampers my holiday baking. I was hoping to bake some peanut butter cookies. Although, of course I don’t need a working oven to make your pumpkin roll recipe 🙂

As blasphemous as this may seem, I actually don’t like most holiday songs. My friends call me the Grinch because of this, but so be it. My favorite holiday song is “How to Make Gravy” by Paul Kelly. It’s actually a very sad and sentimental song, but musically it’s one of my fave Christmas-related songs.

You don’t have an oven??!!! Oh no!!! Get that fixed pronto!!!! May I suggest making the chocolate-peanut truffles? They don’t require an oven! I also really like making raw gingerbread men (almonds, dates, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg), and Raw Crinkle cookies (dates, walnuts, peppermint extract, cocoa powder). They taste fabulous! If I may say so myself 🙂

And I am going to cal you the grinch, too, because holiday songs are MY FAVORITE!!! No offense 😉

Thanks for all these no-bake ideas! Hopefully I’ll be able to get all the ingredients I need this weekend. And no offense taken!

I’m partial to “Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays” by *NSYNC. 🙂 [But for classics, I love “O Come All Ye Faithful”]

Also, I love your twelve days…I might steal your idea!

I love Walking In A Winter Wonderland. Haha, typical!

I have done so much baking already, I don’t know how much more I’m going to do! But, I can’t wait for more of your fabulous Christmas recipes!

I actually sang all of those recipes in my head as I was reading them to the tune of “The 12 Days of Christmas.” hehe. 🙂

I really want to make your coconut iced bark…now all I need is some coconut butter! Also, that banana baked oatmeal looks really good too! Now that holiday break has started I’ll have more time to bake! Yay!

Ooh, favorite Christmas song. That’s tough, there are so many good ones. Do you watch Glee? I just bought their Christmas soundtrack and I’ve been loving that lately. So good!

    Megan 🙂

I have never seen Glee, but I know a lot of people who like it 🙂

I hope you make my recipes! Tell me how they turn out!!!

I don’t do meal planning so far because I’ll just cook my regular meals and look forward to the haunch of venison my mom is going to make for Christmas instead.

Wait – what is Greensleeves?!! I’m sure I know it – but am horrible with names 😉 I love all Xmas songs – stuff from Burl Ives like “Holly Jolly Christmas” make me happy. But “Rocking Around the Christmas Tree” is so spirited!

And, of course, Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas” ! 😉

Can’t wait to see more of your recipes!

Yeah…it was one of my favorite songs, but I always thought it was a weird name that had nothing to do with the song!!! “What child is this, who, laid to rest On Mary’s lap, is sleeping?”
