Test Time! Are You Ready?

December 11, 2010 By Alex@Spoonful of Sugar Free

End of the year.

Time to take final exams.

ACT.

SAT.

Midterms.

(Insert test of choice here)

You’ve studied all you can (hopefully!) and now the test day arrives.

Are you ready?

Get Plenty of Sleep
Dress in Layers
Bring lots and lots of #2 pencils (and erasers because everyone makes mistakes πŸ˜‰ )
Wear a Watch!
Be hydrated! (But not too hydrated, you don’t want to have to go to the bathroom in the middle of the test!)

Eat Brain Food!

Cacao Nibs
Eggs

Salmon
Almonds

Now relax, breathe and ace that test!

Thought-provoking, mind-prodding question of the day:

What are your favorite test-taking tips? Do you have any “brain foods” you like to eat?

I was going to do a post about brain foods πŸ™‚ You beat me to it! I hope your exams went well, or will go well depending on when you’re doing them. And I didn’t know cocoa nibs were a brain food πŸ˜€ I had some sprinkled on toast with pumpkin seed butter before my exam. Now that I think of it, I did feel smarter that day πŸ˜‰

I hate taking tests! I have my final exam for one of my classes on Monday and then in Feb. I’m taking the ACT! Time to get studying, my mom pulled out a THICK practice workbook for the ACT for me today…ugh!

I love eating a banana with some pb for brain fuel!

Oh and today I just bought some of Baker’s unsweetened chocolate squares, I’m excited to start nibbling on them and get used to the “real” chocolate flavor!

That was the test I took Saturday morning! I have takin it three times now….You can take it as many times as you want, and I really think it is a good idea to take it as many times as you can. You can choose what scores to send to colleges, and my scores improved each time I took it!

Yay! I am so glad you got some REAL chocolate πŸ™‚ Tell me what you think!

I’m happy I won’t have exams until next year! Currently I’m writing my diploma thesis and will need some more weeks for it. (It’s normal to need 6 to 12 months for it.)

Your tips are great! I’d add to take breaks regularly (every one or two hours) and go for walk at the fresh air at least once a day. (That’s good to do in a learning break.) I often feel that moving and getting oxygen helps me when I feel stuck.

Those are def brain foods but for actual tests you need CARBS girl! I was gonna write sugar but I know you and sugar dont get along so well πŸ˜‰ But the brain only runs off of glucose/carbs so you gotta get some whole grains in there for a test!

Oh no, my comment was eaten up! Would you look into your spam filter? (Please!)

I hope learning is going well!
